atlanta1 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Hello everyone, Has anyone attended any remembrance services in your community? The cemetary where my Dad is buried had a service Saturday night. They had luminaries all up and down their driveway - and then you could place a luminary on your person's marker. We put one on Dad's and my grandparents who are buried right next to him. That was all very pretty. It was a nice service about 20 minutes - someone sang and then someone spoke a few encouraging words. That cemetary had not done this for years and I am glad that someone brought it back. My mother attended another one at the funeral home chapel - it was for any family the funeral home had served this year. Caring thoughts to all of you this season! Quote
phylsgirl Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I never heard of this but it seems like wonderful tribute to your loved ones. Hoping this service will continue annually. Thanks for sharing this. Peace and Blessings to you and yours as well this holiday season. Namaste, Ree Quote
