I am contacting you on behalf of University Hospital who will be conducting a live webcast of an innovative operation to treat lung cancer on Thursday 12/18 @ 5:00 pm EST. We are inviting your site to link to this remarkable broadcast at http://www.or-live.com

Your site's visitors will find this event to be very educational as it offers hope for patients who previously might have been diagnosed as inoperable. During the live webcast viewers will have the ability to email questions directly to the OR for an on-camera response. The live webcast will then be archived for on-demand playback. A synopsis follows

An innovative operation to treat lung cancer will be broadcast live on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 5:00 pm Est from University Hospital in Cincinnati. John Howington, M.D., director, division of Thoracic Surgery, will be demonstrating a Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) with lobectomy. This event will be moderated by Walter Merrill, M.D., chief, section of cardiothoracic surgery. The procedure being broadcast is performed on patients with small peripheral lung cancers, and is done with 2 to 3 small portals placed between the ribs and a three-inch access incision in the chest, without spreading the ribs. Because fewer and smaller incisions are made, the patient has a shorter recovery and is in less pain.

You can view the specific launch page for this event at http://www.or-live.com/healthalliance/1135/ You will find a preview video for the operation on this page

It looks like there are hospitals and doctors that are aware of this forum. This is wonderful news. A ray of hope for surgery for those that have been told, surgery is not an option. Will you be able to link us to this site the day of the operation. Is it possible to send us a reminder to watch the surgery. Kind of like what you do with the chat. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. You and Katie are such a blessing...

God Bless and hugs for you both... :D:D:D:D

Hey Ricky;

This looks really good, I think someone was just asking about this surgery, think it was one of the new people, I'll find em and send him a PM on it.

Also, it is real nice the group's getting noticed, I got a feeling bigger and better things are coming.

be well
