betty boop
I have several new nodules and will rescan in April, but I was wondering if just by having a CT Scan of chest and abdomen would it show any bone results? Thanks for your help. Betty
famograham
Hmm...I'm by NO means an expert, but my Mom had another CT a few weeks ago and the results did mention that "No destructive bone lesion is seen", so I would think that it picks up something at least?? Anybody else? (((hug))) Linda
SandraL
hi there. I would definitely ask. The CT's that I get of chest and abdomen would not show any bone results. Sandra
Barb73
Hi Betty, Bill has had chest/neck CT's and they did show bone mets. He had one of his shoulder about two plus years ago, and had radiation for it because it was causing pain. Sometimes, it depends on how far apart the slices of scanning take place. There was a CT scan prior to the one that dound that met. It had not shown it. The later one did. Barbara
Patti B
CT scans CAN show bone mets but if the docs want a really good picture of what is going on with a specific bone, they will order an MRI. I have a small rib met that sometimes shows on the CT scan, sometimes does not!! So if you are having problems with a specific bone area, ask your onc for an MRI!! Good luck with your scan - let us know the results!! Hugs - Patti B.
