Some encouraging news amongst the sad losses lately....

My mom had follow-up ct after 3 rounds of cisplatinum for recurrant sclc. Some of the tumors have shrunk, and she began another round of cisplatinum and another drug (I think it's cpt-ll) on day one, day 8 is just the other drug, then two weeks off, then start another round again. Except for having horrible headaches on the first day of tx, she feels pretty good. The diareha gets pretty bad, and did make her weak, but overall she has been doing what she normally does! After two more rounds of the above regimen, she will have another ct.

Many continued prayers for all of those affected by this disease.

Mom dx with sclc limited stage 0l-02

5 months chemo (carboplatin & etoposide), radiation, no pci

Recurrance 06-03 found with follow up c/t, chemo (carboplatin & etoposide) began then stopped due to severe reaction

07-03 pet scan concurred ca in sternum

09-03 ct showed ca spread

09-03 Three 28-day cycles of cisplatinum & cpt-ll

12-03 some tumors responding, began 2 more 28 day cycles cisplatinum & cpt-ll
