Flyman35 Posted March 28, 2009 Share Posted March 28, 2009 Tom's counter critter buddy Bob was diagnosed with SCLC last month and has not been doing well. He was admitted today to the ICU with pleural effusion in both lungs and a massive infection. They have stopped treatment for now and will see if they can get him past this hurdle. He will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, at St. Edna Church, Arlington Heights. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Born Dec. 27, 1939, in Chicago, he died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Northwest Community Hospital. Mr. Basse was a machinist for a tool and die company. He was the husband of Carol (nee Dituri Bartoletti); father of Robert Jr. (Candy) Basse, Darryl (Lorna) Basse and Michael Basse; stepfather of Mario (Esther) Bartoletti; son of Ida and the late Clarence; grandfather of Nicole, Mitchell, Dominic and Dominique; and dear brother-in-law, uncle and friend of many.
