Ann Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 OK....picture this..... In 1 hour, you can board a private plane and travel to any destination in the United States at absolutely no cost to you. You can stay for two weeks, all expenses paid. Where are you going and why did you pick that destination? Quote
jaminkw Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I'm going to Sicily because that's where the family of my Italian mother who died when I was still a baby are from. My grandparents came over but I think there is still some family there. I like to think that's the root of my love for island living came from. Judy in Key West Quote
Ann Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 OK....we know that Judy is still asleep this morning, reading the posts with one eye partially open. Judy.....anywhere in the United States.....LOL Quote
jaminkw Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 So sorry, just disappointed I couldn't go to Italy this year lol. Hawaii of course, it's another island! And besides, I could meet Ned. Judy in Key West Quote
Ann Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 After all of this waiting, I would be completely content to board Becky Snowflake's bus and travel around the country with my friends. But, I would love to fly to Colorado and just spend two weeks somewhere in the Gunnison area. My Dennis loved this area and managed to go there once a year during hunting season. I never made the trip with him, so I think I would like to go there, take in all of the beauty of nature that he loved and somehow feel closer to him. Quote
dahknee Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I can drive to Colorado in about 2 hrs, and I stay away from it as much as possible, so I'd be heading back to Alaska and spend a couple weeks on the Kenai. That's a part of it I missed when I was ther and have always sorta regretted it. Quote
Snowflake Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I'm with Judy on this one, two weeks on someone else's dime and I want to just lay on a beach somewhere warm with a drink in my hand, watching the waves and the "scenery" of my cabana boys.... Quote
Calintay Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Alright Judy and Snowflake that will make three of us. Wow that would be fun! Quote
ginnyde Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 This is tough, so many great places, so little time. Since it is all expenses paid I would go to San Francisco. Great city, enormously expensive. Quote
Janet B Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I am off to Hawaii with the others!!! Blue water - hot - fancy drinks - I'm SO there! Do you have room for all of us NED? Quote
dchurchi Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Wow, the choices. My first instinct would of course be Maui!!! However, I think I would choose South Carolina. I would play golf everyday on a different course. Quote
ginnyde Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Forgot the golf thing. Can I come with you Debbie? Haven't played for a week because of rain, rain and damn rain. Myrtle Beach or Hilton Hear or both!!!!!! Quote
SandraL Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 New York City for me. I have never been. Lots of great sites, shows and shopping! Quote
Larry's Wife Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I believe I'd like to go to Virginia. It's beautiful there, plus there is a lot of history to see. Yes. I'd like that very much. Quote
Ellen in PA Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 If I could also have it be the middle of winter, then Miami Beach, which I've never been to and have heard great things about. If it has to be now, then I guess Maine. Either way, a room overlooking the ocean, please. Ellen Quote
lilyjohn Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 to the train station to try and trade my ticket for a train ticket to Washington. I would like to visit some places and people I left behind a few years ago. Just don't want to fly again Quote
