2glorifyhim
Hello everyone, I was wondering if there are any survivors of anyone with lung cancer with mets to the brain. Please dont be afraid to be truthful with me because that is what I want. My moma was diagnosed with lung cancer at 72 years of age, she WAS a very healthy 72, other then diabetes until this happened. She had section of the lung removed then 5 weeks later it was back in the lung. It since has spread to the brain and on Nov. 20 she had brain surgery. She is not out of rehab yet so no radiation or chemo has been started. I want to be hopeful but I've been doing my research via the internet. I know all cases are different but do yall know of anyone that has survived this? Thank you in advance for taking the time to reach out to me and others. God bless you all, Susan
kimblanchard
There are MANY people here battling cancer who have and/or have had LC with brain mets...MANY...including me... FOUR YEARS AGO! In hoping to help, what's essential to do now is research the most effective, progressively advanced, pro-active and conscientious treatment(s)...and then discussing it all with your Mother to help her with her decisions on her treatment. Keep coming back with any Qs you may have, any time. Just remember...time is critical, so stay busy at this important time.
kimblanchard
I have said this in previous post but will repeat because I know you didn't see them. My friend in his mid 60's had surgery 3 years ago for what they thought was 2 benign brain tumors. They were malignant and had spread from the lung. He had radiation and chemo and is doing well today with No signs of ccancer. Don't give up. All cases are different.

Guest Piermarie
My mom is stage 4 with mets to the liver, bone, and brain. She underwent whole brain radiation and stereotactic radiation and her last two catscans have shown that out of the four lesions, only one is still there and it is pretty much on its way out too. Never give up hope!!!! Since being on Iressa in October, my mom no longer coughs nor does she take anything else BUT the Iressa....she is even leaving for Florida in January for a couple of months to get away from the cold weather and visit friends! Have faith and keep positive!!!!! Pier
