fighting4mom Posted August 11, 2009 Share Posted August 11, 2009 Hello all, I am very pleased to report that my Mom has successfully completed half of her treatments (she has had 17 of her 33 radiation treatments and one cycle of chemo)!!! Aside from fatigue, itchy skin, low blood counts (fixed with neupogen) and hair loss (all expected) she seems to be free from side effects (praise the Lord!). Also, rad onc said today that the tumor has "shrank a bit". Interestingly, we had expected to have the visit with doc tomororw, but he shared that with Mom today ... talk about asuaging scanxiety a bit! I just wanted to share this with you all. ...the fight continues with the remaining rad treatments and next course of chemo starts Monday ... expecting a lot of fatigue by next weekend but keeping strong in the fight.
