Lost my brother in law to lymphoma

tom Piller, age 50, fought for 11 months and lost his battle October 30. He died just 3 weeks after we learned the lymphoma had spread to his stomach. We are a very close family and spent a lot of time helping him through his chemos, hoping to get him to stem cell.

I was his chemo coach. Even when I knew his illness was beyond mine, I had many long talks with him. At the end I told him I felt that I let him down--that I lied to him.

300 people attended his memorial service last Monday.

Gail,

You did not let him down, you were there for him when he needed a hand to hold and the comfort of someone who had been there. We all know the odds and the side effects, we just all hope that we are in the "good side" of the statistics. You gave him an experienced companion on a very scary walk, you did NOT let him down, you gave him someone to lean on.

I am very sorry for your loss.

Be kind to yourself,

Becky

Gail,

I am so very sorry. You were there for Tom, and there is nothing more loving that you can do for a person.

No one knows how life can turn on a dime, so please, know this - that you were a true friend to him.

Please accept my condolences on this loss to you and your family.

Barbara
