Poem for someone you care about dx. with cancer

Recommended Posts

I wanted to share this with you all and decided to post it here.

This poem was written by my friend Sam Porter who is a 2 yr. stage IV lung cancer survivor. He is currently on Tarceva and his cancer is stable.

He attends the DFW LCSgroup that I facilitate and he wrote this poem and wanted to share it with all of you.

Sam is almost 80, and he doesn't "do" computers.

Travel this road with you...

On the road you travel,

Take comfort in the fact,

You are not alone.

For our thoughts go with you

We wish for you,

The most precious gift of life

Good Health!

Let us walk down this path together,

As friends concerned but unafraid of the future.

Let there be friends

CLose and full of CHEER.

Let there be partners

Unto my soul be near.

Allow us to travel

This road with you.

For the helping hand

Is usually the one nearest.

~Sam Porter.
