caroline Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 My Dad will probably pass within the next few weeks of LC. I would like to state in the obit that in lieu of flowers to send a donation to someplace that will benefit LC or LC research...any ideas? Quote
Guest DaveG Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 Pick out a cancer center in your area, maybe the one your dad was going to. Designate that memorials be made to that center specifically for lung cancer research. Most of your large universities, especially the the State Universities are doing lung cancer research. For example: I am organizing and promoting a golf outing for lung cancer research. The recepiant wil be the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center for Lung Cancer Research under the direction of Dr. Joan Schiller. Call the cancer center and ask to speak to the public relations person, as a start, they have much experience with this and will gladly help you. Quote
AdaW Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 Dear Caroline, I am very sorry to hear about your Father and I hope the next few weeks are peaceful for him and for your family. Another organization that is very involved in Lung Cancer education is ALCASE--right in your area of the country. Their web address is www.alcase.org. Thinking of you, Ada Quote
Guest Fay A. Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 Caroline. I hope that the weeks ahead are filled with love for all of you. Does anyone know if Estrea accepts donations to help defray the costs of running this site? (I'm assuming that it isn't free.) Fay A. Quote

Fay A. Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 I am very sorry for your loss. I hope that you can find comfort in knowing that you have done everything you could for your Father. He had to be so very proud of you. I know from first hand experience what a joy and comfort it is to a parent to have a child like you. Prayers for peace, Dear One. Fay A. Quote
