Pick out a cancer center in your area, maybe the one your dad was going to. Designate that memorials be made to that center specifically for lung cancer research. Most of your large universities, especially the the State Universities are doing lung cancer research.

For example: I am organizing and promoting a golf outing for lung cancer research. The recepiant wil be the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center for Lung Cancer Research under the direction of Dr. Joan Schiller.

Call the cancer center and ask to speak to the public relations person, as a start, they have much experience with this and will gladly help you.

Dear Caroline,

I am very sorry to hear about your Father and I hope the next few weeks are peaceful for him and for your family.

Another organization that is very involved in Lung Cancer education is ALCASE--right in your area of the country. Their web address is www.alcase.org.

Thinking of you,

Ada

Caroline,

I'm so sorry. Thank you for thinking about future L/C research at a time like this. I think Dave is right. Others in your area could benefit from what your dad has been through. Contact the hospital/center where your dad had his treatments and perhaps you could make a donation that is allocated only for L/C research and patient programs. God bless you and your family in these difficult times.

Caroline. I hope that the weeks ahead are filled with love for all of you. Does anyone know if Estrea accepts donations to help defray the costs of running this site? (I'm assuming that it isn't free.) Fay A.

I am very sorry for your loss. I hope that you can find comfort in knowing that you have done everything you could for your Father. He had to be so very proud of you. I know from first hand experience what a joy and comfort it is to a parent to have a child like you. Prayers for peace, Dear One.

Fay A.
