My friend Cindy Brown (CindyRN)

I am glad to have known her for 8 years and I am glad to have met her and spent some time with her. She was my inspiration when my dad was diagnosed- both of them with the same diagnosis-- and she even wrote to him... such a great support. I am still in shock.

I've lost a sweet friend. We've all lost a great friend to our site.

You can find her story in the My Story forum. She was dx with small cell and given a grim diagnosis- like my dad- and she blew away that prognosis by MANY years...she was a walking miracle. When I met her for the first time, her personality was huge and she lit up a room with laughter and smiles.

I will miss you, CIndyRN.

My thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to Tom, her children and grandchild. May God comfort and hold you during this time.

Oh darn it, Katie. I remember her from Chicago - remember all her pics??? I have thought about her so often - I really have - and wondered how she had been doing. Had she been doing poorly for a long time? Sent a message once - remember when I asked you about some whom I hadn't seen around for awhile -you suggested I send them a message? Anyhow, never heard anything. She was amazing. LC stinks!

Last year she told me about a recurrence that she was going to do treatment for...she made it sound easy-peasy....but deep down I think I knew better.

She spent last year with her family and 1 yr old granddaughter. She sent me only sporadic messages here and there.

Still I was shocked when her husband wrote to me about her passing...

She was a character in Chicago! She has been and WILL be missed!

It is to my disadvantage,in not being around here getting to know Cindy.I have read her introductory posting here, and I can recognise from that she had a strong personality and had a super drive to succeed in life.It is obvious to me that she did have a very successful life.My sympathy is extended to her family and friends.

I am so very sorry to hear of Cindy's passing. She was there for me so many times after I lost Dennis. No matter how long we've been members of this board, it still hurts when we lose another member and friend. Funny, you would think our hearts would be a little more equipped to deal with losses after all this time, but it never gets easier.

I am saying a prayer for Cindy's family, as I know how very much they will miss her.

Darn it Katie. This disease takes another wife, mother, grandmother, friend and member of this board. It makes me so furious. I didn't know Cindy but I feel for you having to bear another such loss on top of so many. My sincere condolences to you and to her family.

Katie, this is such sad news. I haven't logged on in quite a while and spotted the 'CindyRN' right away. When Jim was sick, I was too shy to post but came here often to see how others were doing and to learn as much info as I could. I dug up the courage to private message Cindy because she and Jim shared the same diagnosis and she was doing so great and was such a true inspiration!

I send you, her family and friends my heartfelt condolences and I know we all will cherish warm memories of her forever.

Lynne
