Tuesday's Air

Morning All! Stan is leaving for a shopping trip up the Keys so I put the heaters back on. The desktop temp says 71 but I'm just liking that little burst of warmer from my space heater. I'll turn them off when I get up moving around.

The oldest grandson's fishing pole broke when he was here last so Stan's on a mission. Wants one just like it. I was invited but opted out. He'll probably hit every tackle shop up US 1 and could wind up at Bass Pro in N Miami. Thanks but no thanks. I have a few things to do in the office and I need to reorganize my closet. That's important to finishing putting stuff away. When you live in a little house, it seems you are always rearranging to try to get maximum storage. Problem is remembering where you put things. Stan has a missing large box of Food Saver bags. We've looked everywhere lol.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning All, It was a mile 32 degrees driving to work on wet roads. Did not want to get out from under the blankets, then of course I was running late when i jumped into the shower - and my phone rang. My mom and telemarketers are all that ever call my house phone so I jumped out to answer her - should have known better - all she wanted to know was how a couple of her friends on FB were related. (She doesn't have many friends so I hooked her up with a bunch of mine that play games...so I'm supposed to know where they came from at 7 a.m. in the morning - wet and freezing!). I swear I won't do that again until the phone rings and I'm in the shower - well .... it could be important.

Judy - maybe Bud borrowed those bags when he was having all the luck fishing...

Or Bruce took them to ship some buttons to our farms...

I know they go fast - Keith and I bring a sandwich to work (mine makes it to 7:30 a.m.) so that's 2 a day - they go quick.

I am procrastinating today. I have much work to perform - and my performance wants a nap. We need sunshine - sunshine would cure much of what ails us I think - we've got winter grays (blues makes no sense to me!).

Snap up everyone - stretch - bend - stretch - bend - turn right - turn left. Nuff exercise for today.

Oh - just one more thing before I go. I just wanted to get this straight in my mind. Bruce wanted driving his tractor with a heated cab (and I pictured him wearing a Margaritaville Shirt and Shorts and flip flops mind you) to count as exercise - I'm thinking this needs a vote from the EVTB Team.

Did it Annette. You reminded me, I bought some Arthritis Strength Tylenol so I could get my three days working out again. Believe it or not, yesterday my Total Gym broke! Stan says it's a carriage wheel or something like that. I have to look in the book and order new ones.

Good idea about the bags. Will have to investigate that.

LOL I vote NO. Make him turn the heater off anyway. I think Linda said he could burn calories trying to stay warm.

Are we the only ones goofing off? Really, I'm "on break."

Morning folks - sitting at a balmy -28C this a.m...hey, that's better than -35 anyhow!

Thoroughly enjoyed our pyjama day yesterday ... today, fully dressed and ready to go. I will drive the kids to school, run a few errands and then return to work on business stuff here at home.

Annette - don't mom's just have the best timing for phone calls?!? Mine seems to have a sixth sense about how to catch me at the most inopportune time - usually to ask if I've seen the weather report (as if looking outside isn't sufficient-I must hear it from her per the weatherman on the news channel!) Oh well, we love our moms dearly and they keep our lives interesting.

Judy - here's just a woman's line of thinking - couldn't Stan just phone these places to find out if they carry that type of rod? I know my husband wouldn't do that - he would say "you never know what I might miss if I didn't go look myself" but ... just throwing it out there :) I certainly don't do that if I am going clothes shopping, but since we have an hour and a half drive to the city, rather than drive everywhere looking for a particular item, I call the stores ahead and if I find what I want I get them to put it on hold. It just saves us gas and time and driving aimlessly around the city. Anyhow, I'm sure it's all part of the "hunt" that is fun for Stan. Maybe he'll even surprise you and pick up some bags on his outing?

Annette - forgive me for not knowing but, what is EVTB team? And ... I would like to see photos of Bruce in the get up you described :) !

Have a great day everyone.

Linda - - the EVTB Team is the Exercise Vicariously Through Bud Team - - we get our exercise when he rides his bike to work -no sense in all of us doing it. (Judy and Judy I believe help out by exercising when he can't). You are welcome to join us of course. We have to be on our toes as you can tell people are trying to sneak things in that just can't count as exercise.

Good morning, everyone!

It was 22 degrees with a 35 mph north wind and sleeting hard when I got up this morning. There was over an inch of sleet already on the ground. As I drove to work, it changed to snow. We rarely get anything that could be defined as a blizzard here, but this morning had to be pretty close.

The forecast high for today is........... even colder than it is now.....LOL. The howling north wind is supposed to have wind chills below zero tonight, so I probably won't ride to work tomorrow, either.

KW Judy, I know exactly what you mean about storage, organization, and finding things in a small place. We downsized a lot when we moved to this place in Crowley, and I'm also finding that I keep rearranging things to make the things I use most often easy to get to.

Stay warm, everyone! Have a great day!

Well it is -29C/-20F on the farm this morning. The sun is just coming over the tree's and it is supposed to get to -14C/+7F this afternoon. Just nice for doing outside chores.

Judy I can certainly understand having to check out all those tackle shops. And Linda calling around should not even be considered !!! We are talking about a fishing pole.

Judy I will return those bags with your present inside. LOL

Annette I wouldn't mind dressing up like that and getting Linda's picture but Jimmy Buffett borrowed my shirt, shorts, and flip flops and then walked off a stage in Austrailia.

Bud if the temperature keeps dropping there you can borrow my ice auger.

I love reading all the daily posts, it is like a weather report/journal. 27 degrees when I drove to work this a.m., driveway a little icy but roads were fine. Expecting more 'wintery mix' this afternoon, just in time for drive time.

Judy KW, I have too much storage room and that creates the same kind of 'where the heck is it' problem.

I do hope I am on the EVTB team, about to order shirts and bicycle shorts with that logo. Is there a mascot?

So many friends have disconnected their land lines and just use their cells. Have any of you done this? I forget sometimes to charge my cell and would be very nervous since I live alone not having a working phone near my bed. The intruder my not be gorgeous, lol.

Bud, I am glad to see you do drive sometimes. Blizzards of any kind are not for bikes. Please let us know if you are jogging around the office or doing jumping jacks so we do not have to exercise today.

Back to work.

Ginny - - a mascot - - what a great great idea.

So it can't be a dog - cause you have to walk them.

It could be a cat - cause they are prone to laziness - which if you think about it is just what this club is about.

But, of course, my first thought was......

____________.

Cast your votes - no spitting on the envelops to close them before you put them in the box. This is getting serious now - we may need to elect club officials to monitor members and ensure they are not over-exercising behind our posts.

Annette - sign me up for the EVTB team (love it!). As to Ginny's question re: mascot - picture Bruce with the EVTB logo shorts & shirt, flip flops (I'll get those since Jimmy Buffet confiscated his) riding the llama...what a wonderous sight that would be. We would be a household name in no time! Look out Olympics - here we come!!! Oh yes, and I see how people try to count certain activities as exercise - I used to tell my husband that vacuuming was exercise (he laughed but I still believe that!)

Bruce - message received about phoning for fishing rod - I guess that would be like clothes shopping for me. Good to know :) .

Judy-umm, Bruce really has the art of gift giving doesn't he?!?

Ginny-many of our friends are doing the same with cell phones being their only phone. We have a fax connected to our land line so it is out of the question for us. Also, my battery is dead half the time like yours.

Bud - glad you drove to work ... although in bad conditions that can be just as dangerous. Drive safe and stay warm.

Frost on the grass - 31 degrees heading to 44 today. But we have blue sky. I think we are doing good.

Yesterday was infusion day - there were no snacks available in clinic this time! So a boring day without even pudding to while away the time. Took 3 sticks to get the good vein, ouch.

Time for breakfast!

Hi Everyone! Yesterday's Air had me laughing out loud!!!!! I didn't get here once yesterday. And now todays Air is HUGE!!!

First things first, and maybe I'll see someone post about THE STORM once I go back and read. We are preparing for what might be the blizzard of the decade. Hubs is on his way home from the East side of the State, and I've been praying all day for him to get home before it hits. It's 15 out right now, but the wind is howling so it's about zero. 24 inches predicted! The last storm where we got that much snow overnight that I can remember was the Blizzard of 1978. You can google that one. It was amazing. All our highways were closed down, and businesses shut down, and it was an amazing thing to see. On the radar all I see is a giant blue blog coming towards us. How exciting!!!!!

Stephanie, hope your feeling okay after infusion day!

Judy, I'm cracking up at your first post and the heater on when it's 71. That is so funny considering what is coming our way soon! I can relate to what you wrote yesterday, about feeling better and doing more and being sore from it. Me too. No more spasms = doing lots more. But we're not complaining are we? It's amazing to be able to do stuff we thought we wouldn't be able to do again.

Without reading the other responses, I think Bruce's exercise in the warm cab definintely fits with the EVTB Team. LOL

Linda didn't know what the EVTB team is? As I read on I'm sure she was educated!

LOL at Bruce. Yesterday was funny with the Llama and cow stories. Letting Bud borrow his ice auger. Bud have you ever used one of those?

Ginny, we did get rid of our regular phone. We just use cell phones now. But we're very good at keeping them charged since we know it is our "life line" to the world. The only calls I was getting anymore were telemarketers, and politicians.

Linda, you crack me up! Love your idea about Bruce for the EVBT team logo! Maybe we need a picture of his legs before we make the final decision. LOL!

Annette, yes, I think we need a board for those cheaters that are exercising behind our backs. No cheaters in this club!

So Randy is heading North this weekend. He and his buddies go snowmobiling once a year up North. They drive around like they are still 16 years old, and act like idiots. You know sit around, and eat and drink too much, fart, and burp, and hand bump at the end remembering the good times! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Okay the news is on, got to go see what the weather man has to say. They are saying 1/3 of the USA is being impacted by this! So for all of us, stay safe!

MI Judy

Wow, there banning street parking in the City! The plows are going to need to get around and cars mess that up. What if you don't have a garage? Don't know how their going to enforce that.

The police will be out looking for homeless people, and escort them to shelters, which makes me happy. I always feel compelled to pray for them when we get such bitter weather. Grand Rapids population is around a million so it's not a small city, and we need to take care of those less fortunate.

Right now they have 90 plows revv'd up and ready to go.

And we lost our 4 mail boxes today. We live on a private road with four houses on it, and the snow plow went by and BAM! Mail boxes are laying on the ground. Randy will have to deal with that when he gets home.

We are blessed, a warm home, cupboards stocked, and we can just buckle down and be safe. They are telling everyone to not drive tomorrow unless it's an emergency.

Whooooooo Hooooooooo!!!!!!!!

MI Judy
