john Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 Not directely related to lung cancer, but the article is about not getting patients into clinical trials http://www.newswise.com/articles/view/502484/ Quote
Guest DaveG Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 The University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center must not have read the article because numerous clinical trials are available through UWCCC Quote
john Posted January 16, 2004 Author Posted January 16, 2004 I think what the article was saying is that private practice oncologists or oncologists not afflilated with a NCI designated center don't refer as often. I think the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center is a NCI designated center so getting to a NCI designated center may give patients more options. Finding the best doctors and cancer center is very important at least what I believe. Oncologists generally can only give what has been approved by the FDA. Quote
