Snowflake
I know, corny country lyrics, but the poetry in the words is SOOO moving... The River by Garth Brooks and Victoria Shaw You know a dream is like a river Ever changin' as it flows And a dreamer's just a vessel That must follow where it goes Trying to learn from what's behind you And never knowing what's in store Makes each day a constant battle Just to stay between the shores...and I will sail my vessel 'Til the river runs dry Like a bird upon the wind These waters are my sky I'll never reach my destination If I never try So I will sail my vessel 'Til the river runs dry Too many times we stand aside And let the waters slip away 'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow Has now become today So don't you sit upon the shoreline And say you're satisfied Choose to chance the rapids And dare to dance the tide...yes I will sail my vessel 'Til the river runs dry Like a bird upon the wind These waters are my sky I'll never reach my destination If I never try So I will sail my vessel 'Til the river runs dry There's bound to be rough waters And I know I'll take some falls But with the good Lord as my captain I can make it through them all...yes I will sail my vessel 'Til the river runs dry Like a bird upon the wind These waters are my sky I'll never reach my destination If I never try So I will sail my vessel 'Til the river runs dry Yes, I will sail my vessel 'Til the river runs dry 'Til the river runs dry The Dance Written by Tony Arata Performed by Garth Brooks Looking back on the memory of The dance we shared 'neath the stars alone For a moment all the world was right How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye And now I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end the way it all would go Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd of had to miss the dance Holding you I held everything For a moment wasn't I a king But if I'd only known how the king would fall Hey who's to say you know I might have chanced it all And now I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end the way it all would go Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd of had to miss the dance Yes my life is better left to chance I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance
MO_Sugar
Those are 2 of my all time favorite songs! The Dance has so many meanings to me that it makes me cry every time I hear it, lol. Thanks! MO
cathy
I never really listened to the words before today, very moving. Ever since my dad was diagnosed, certain songs and sometimes just certain lyrics go through my head . Now that he isnt here the lyrics are there all the time....
