GLEN BURNIE - A reduced-dose CT screening for lung cancer is being offered at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

The screening is open to those between 55 and 74 years old who have smoked for a total of 30 years and either still smoke or quit smoking within the last 15 years.

A physician referral is required for the screening, which costs $100.

The hospital said CT scans can reduce the number of deaths from lung cancer by 20 percent.
