NikoleV
How should we use serum tumor markers, if ever, in managing lung cancer? January 4th, 2013 - by Dr. Jack West http://blog.lungevity.org/2013/01/04/se ... -lc-video/ A common question that comes up in managing lung cancer is how, and perhaps even whether, we should use blood tests to make clinical decisions in the management of lung cancer? Here’s a video in which I discuss this issue of serum tumor marker testing for lung cancer, a question without a clear right answer, but perhaps some wrong ones. What are your experiences with it? I’d underscore that if your oncologist isn’t checking for these, this isn’t a wrong answer, but do you feel that you’re missing out without it? Would you be tempted to use (and perhaps overinterpret) this information if you had it?
