PEORIA - In observance of National Lung Cancer Awareness Month, two facilities are promoting good health in November.

Both OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and UnityPoint Health-Methodist are offering free scans to qualified patients.

People must be between the ages of 55 and 80 years old, and either a current or former smoker with no health symptoms.

Scans normally cost about $175.

UnityPoint Health-Methodist says it’s an opportunity for people to get screened for the disease who might not otherwise have been able to afford it.

Those interested in a free screening are encouraged to find out if they qualify for the service.

Call OSF Saint Francis Medical Center at 309-624-5864 or UnityPoint Health-Methodist at 309-671-8296.
