just introducing myself

Hello all,

I just want to introduce myself as a new member to the lungevity.org support community and have just begun to browse the many topics, stories and information available through the website.

I am originally from Fort Collins, Colorado, but have since moved overseas to New Zealand where I live with my lovely wife and two beautiful daughters age 2 and 4 weeks old. I was recently floored by a stage IV peritoneal mesothelioma dx in May 2013 after experiencing a persistent dry cough and SOB since Dec 2012. I have been through all of the ups and downs, emotionally and physically and have been undergoing various chemotherapy treatments since July 2013. It is no walk in the park as I know you all know, but am glad to have developed a strong determination through faith, hope, and the love in my life to overcome this. I truly believe we all have a choice in the path we will take in life, including overcoming all odds, ignoring statistics and coming out on top. I read about people who have, and am fortunate enough to have met a few who have been in almost identical circumstances as I, but keep on ticking along.

I would be glad to receive a reply from anyone. Mesothelioma survivors, please speak up, you are hard to find and seem to be few and far between ( though I consider that there are few dx with this rare disease an overall good thing ). Thanks for hearing me out. Take care.

Good Evening Paul,

Welcome to LCSC,sorry about being at the Coos tail in replying to your post,I have been so busy these last few days.I am always pleased to read of new members dropping by,when I first arrived here,I was made to feel so welcome, everyone here was so friendly and supportive, something I am sure you will soon discover for yourself.

I am really sorry to hear of your Mesothelioma dx,I am a five year survivor of NSCLC,my GP is a bit miffed about that I am sure, since he only gave me two years max LOL,I am that stubborn I just wanted to stay around to prove him wrong.I am determined to go on and on and on.

I live in Scotland,I dont think you can travel further on the planet to New Zealand from Scotland before you start coming home again.I would love to visit it one day,I appreciate the country is as beautiful as Scotland.

I look forward to getting to know you, check out the other forums such as Just for Fun,and the Photo album,I am a keen amateur photographer and many of my pics of Scotland are there, also some of my trips to the USA.

Bye for now.
