Well, I believe this is mostly good news. The spot on Lucie's rib that was seen in the bone scan in November and in the PET scan in December has disappeared according to a recent x-ray of the area. This has happened before with mets on the ribs.

Anyway, we had the x-rays done (lungs still clear) because she has been having pain in the area. With the onc's agreement, we have increased the morphine dose at night -- she has most problem in the morning when she first gets up. We will go to 30mg morning and night, instead of 30 morning and 15 night.

Otherwise, she has gotten stronger and is able to do more things, even driving herself some. She has bought some new clothes via Internet and is looking mighty good. And with her own hair.

Lucie and Don,

So happy for both of you.

Keep the good news coming,

2004 could be a beautiful year for good news.

Enjoy each day, and if it is not the best,

tomorrow will be better.

Hugs

Great to hear that! I posted a while ago that Zometa does not treat bone mets (but prevents them and prevents fractures), but I read recently that it actually does treat them - and maybe Lucie is a good example

Don and Lucie,

Well I guess that proves miracles do happen, Lucie you sure are an inspiration for this website, I truly am happy for you, you have fought a long intense battle and it looks as though you are on your way to better days...

I'm hoping that this time around the rib spots STAY gone. Hope the new drug dosage keeps the pain in check, and that Lucie is out and about on her own (and with you) to her hearts content.
