LaurenH
A lung cancer diagnosis presents a unique set of challenges for families. Many patients diagnosed with lung cancer will eventually require support from a family caregiver. According to the National Cancer Institute, family caregivers provide "a complex array of support tasks that extend across physical, psychological, spiritual & emotional domains." As a result, daily routines may change and schedules may be centered around treatment. Everyone in the family may have to take on new roles and responsibilities. Cancer can also put a strain on internal relationships, which may lead to communication difficulties within the family and with health care providers. Join the #LCCaregiver Twitter Chat on Wednesday, September 5, at 8:00 PM ET to discuss family challenges and learn tips and strategies from LUNGevity and from other lung cancer caregivers. Use #LCCaregiver to join the conversation on Twitter. LC Caregiver Twitter chats are held the first Wednesday of each month at 8:00 PM ET. The topics are geared toward current lung cancer caregivers, but patients, survivors, advocates, health care providers, and lung cancer experts are welcome to attend.
