DeanCarl
A lot of folks ask for prayers and good thoughts for operations, scan results and other really important stuff so I feel a bit silly asking for this .. ... but ... the folks at the VA said I'd have my scooter in "a week or two" the last time I talked to them. That was 2 weeks ago this coming Thursday. So I'm going to call them tomarrow (Tuesday) and see what's up. I could REALLY use some good news as my muscle weakness has progressed to the point where I'm pretty much homebound without that scooter. So any good thoughts, vibes or prayers would be appreciated. Sam'swifeShirley
Dear DeanCarl, I am joining the prayer chain but, may I make another suggestion? If you do not get an answer to the date of your scooter arrival when you call today, call tomorrow and the next day and for how many days until you get a satisfactory response. Also, document the times and the names of those you have spoken to the at the VA. Maintaing an assertive, not aggressive attitude in this day of customer no-service is difficult to do, but gets a better result. As for the weakness, try to do any exercises possible to keep those muscles working-easier said than done sometimes, right. I know there were so many times it was all Sam could do just to walk across the room. Do not give up. God bless us all. David A
Dean, here is hoping that darn scooter gets there this week! I think Shirley had a great idea about calling everyday till it arrives, I know I 've had to do the same thing when it has come to getting warranty work done on one of our vans I bugged and bugged them , but being polite. Know that I wish you well friend. DavidA

Fay A.
Happy to do just that, Dean., but how do you think it would go if hundreds of your good friends from LCSC were to call the VA, too, and politely ask when you might be getting your scooter? I would never do something like that without your express permission. But I know from experience that governmental offices can be much more customer service oriented if there are many people expressing interest in a given issue. lilyjohn
I'm on that list of prayers for you too. Hope they get off thier buns and get it to you today. As for the weakness it seems that you have had a lot of exertion lately both physical and emotional. That would wear anyone down. Hoping that all ends today when your scooter will be delivered. Now that is what I pray for that you get it today and it boosts your energy and muscle power. Keep at them but please try to relax. All that tension will only make you feel worse. ginnyde
This is my first scooter prayer but I'm a saying it. When you talk to the VA get not only the person's name but their man number. Also, I will gladly join the phone blast to the VA if you want us to. This treatment is UNACCEPTABLE. This is our tax dollars at work. Gay
I'm replying to my husband's post about that darn scooter = quality of life; (he hasn't been outside since Sat; very little energy) - we're gonna name it: "Freedom". His GEM of a MD went out on a limb, knowing when to push certain VA buttons (he got the Scooter people to overturn it's no-go on the scooter due to the fact Dean "could" walk 200 ft while on oxegen - which is amazing in it's self. The MD also said to treat the Physical Therapy Dept EGOS with "kid gloves"....wait patiently, etc.. until calling as to the status of the scooter. Thanks for all of you who expressed interest in SCREAMING at the VA - Dean, or any other Veteran should not be treated so poorly. I'm ready to do some screaming, too at them. But the scooter WILL come soon; for our peace of mind; hopefully really soon. Thanks for your prayers.
