Susan Cornett Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Today's results: NED! The SBRT I had in September continues to work its magic. I'll scan again in 4 months instead of 3. Super Doc says he doesn't have a standard to follow for my case because it's been a little unusual. This leads perfectly into next week's 3 year cancerversary.
LexieCat Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 AWESOME!!! I'm so, SO happy for you! And congrats on your three years--you're rockin' it!

Tom Galli Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Susan, What can I say NED! I heard those 'sum b*#&h cells screaming from Rockwall. May they rest not in peace. What was that line about napalm in the morning? OBTW - you owe us a 3 painted toenail post photo. LUNGevity blue is this year's color so do the paint! Stay the course. Tom

Barb1260 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Yay! Congrats. Can someone fill me in on the toenail painting?
Tom Galli Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Barb, Each year, on the day of my diagnosis, I celebrate life by painting a toenail. I take a photo of it and post it to friends and family. Now I put the photo on Lungevity. This year, I'm celebrating 15 years and here is the toenail paint job. The story behind the story involves a Dr. Phill Berman, a San Diego Radiologist and never smoker, who was diagnosed with NSCLC about the same time as me. He had a large extended family that lived across the US and instead of spending hours on the phone discussing treatment, he started a blog in 2004 to update folks. He called the blog redtoenail.org and in his first entry, he vowed to paint a toenail red for each year he survived "this nastiness." I started keeping the tradition in 2007 and have been painting ever since. This year, I made a color switch from red to LUNGevity blue. So, you are most welcome to paint and post! Stay the course. Tom
Barb1260 Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Thanks Tom. Love it, I will keep with tradition on my anniversary.
LaurenH Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 That's wonderful news, Susan! We are very happy for you! Thank you for spreading hope and for all you do to support this community. With gratitude, Lauren -- Digital Community Manager LUNGevity Foundation
Road bum Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 It’s a really great feeling when you get that first NED. Enjoy it and maybe you will be painting another toenail every year. Ron
