Isabelle49 Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Port is in place. It is a Power Port. Wonder if I will have any super powers with this thing??? Having the procedure done was a walk in the part, I remember nothing at all, anesthesia used very good effective drugs and for that I am forever appreciative. As a retired RN, I don’t do pain, even though I am told I have a high pain tolerance. Now waiting on insurance approval for plan to be set in motion for chemo and radiation starting July 1. I’m ready to rock and roll!!! Blessings to all.
Isabelle49 Posted June 26, 2019 Author Posted June 26, 2019 Just read CXR report and it notes as an impression: Right lower lobe pneumonia vs aspiration. Also says port is in proper place. Ive called pulmonologist and oncologist about this impression. Waiting to hear back. No one mentioned this while I was at the hospital. WTH!!!???
Rower Michelle Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Yeah, they don't always tell you what the findings are from interventional radiation- boy did I have a few surprises too after the port went in! If it was anything really too serious, they wouldn't have let you go home. Hang tight.
Isabelle49 Posted June 26, 2019 Author Posted June 26, 2019 I got a message back form the oncologist nurse saying the right lower lobe pneumonia was probably the cancer. Problem is, the cancer is in the right middle lobe. I have returned a message mentioning this. I will be like a dog with a bone until this is resolved and confirmed not to be pneumonia. As I understand chemo is usually not given while pneumonia is active. I would also require the radiologist to correct the report and explain the confusion. As a retired RN, I don’t put up with any monkey business!!!
Rower Michelle Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Ha! The medical team has noooo idea what’s coming!!! Keep that fighting spirit up!
Isabelle49 Posted June 26, 2019 Author Posted June 26, 2019 Right. I will care and advocate for myself the same as I did for patients I cared for in my career as a nurse for 33 years.
