Pattymac
My latest CT scan showed no new changes in size or density, recommended another Ct in 6 months, my “second opinion” Thoracic Surgeon” told me that I will probably be scanned for the rest of my life??? Does that make sense?? I thought after a few years of no change it would be ok???
Tom Galli
Patty Mac, In February I’ll celebrate my 16th year of survival. Five years ago, I moved from 2 scans a year to one. My doc tells me I’ll have at least one scan a year for the rest of my life. It is a minor inconvenience compared to the alternative. Stay the course. Curt
It depends on how old you are and if there are other risk factors. Smoker, female, family history, location of nodule and characteristics of the nodule can all increase concern and the length of time they want to watch the nodule. Pattymac
Thanks Tom and Curt for replying, I had no idea that they would continue to scan for so long, but I am going to change my way of thinking and be grateful for the scans, as they would surely catch lung cancer early if it becomes that!
