Rower Michelle
Hi Rawi, Welcome here. I’m sorry to learn about your father. You’re not alone in the sticker shock of Tagrisso. It’s a very expensive targeted therapy only recently approved by the FDA so no generics for the near term. There’s no alternative either that is less expensive. The good news is Tagrisso is very effective in managing EGFR lung cancer with many patients living near normal lives. Five years ago this was not the case. Innovation is expensive and high quality life is priceless. Keep us posted. Michelle
Cass
My mother is on tagrisso and initially we thought her new insurance wouldn't cover it during that time I learned that sometimes you can contact this drug company directly and see if they can help you with the cost. They have programs sometimes to do this. Also speak with your dad's oncologist as sometimes they can point you in the right direction to get help with this. Lungevity also has some programs with grants to help with some things or at least knows who to get you in touch with. If you call the number they may be able to get you further help qualifying for grants. You may have already resolved this or moved on from this drug maybe this can help someone else find the information as well. I hope things have been going well.
