Sheryl E
Babs, I see radiation onc on Friday. That’s it for now. They want me to do radiation to the brain just to be careful. I don’t know how I feel about that. What do you guys think?
Tom Galli
Sheryl, With SCLC's frequency of mets to the brain, prophylactic brain whole brain radiation is normally a suggested method of care. During our ILCSC, a number of radiation oncologists addressed this form of treatment and methods used to minimize side effects. My conclusion: if I were a early diagnosed SCLC with a resected tumor, I'd have the brain radiation. Far better to deal with tumors too small to see on scans then to wait till they are visible on scans. Stay the course. Tom

D iane
I too think it is wonderful that 1-you could even have surgery for SCLC-that's HUGE, and 2-you seem to be recovering at a rabbit's pace!!! Best wishes to you

Babs
If it were me, I would do the radiation. Easy for me to say. I just feel that it’s better to be proactive. Whatever you decide, we are here and rooting for you!! Babs
