Sometimes SUV can increase due to inflammation or injury/healing, so let's hope that's what is going on. I had uptake in my paralyzed vocal cord for the longest time and also where I had radiation. It took about a year to subside, although I just had some very minor SUV increase in the last scan that my oncologist was not concerned about. A number of things can affect SUV, so let's see what future PET Scans show. In the meantime celebrate the day and let your Mom do whatever she wants. She deserves it.
