Judy M2
Last week I went for my regular 8-week port flush. The following day the skin over my port was red and extremely itchy. While I have frequent eczema flare-ups from Tagrisso, this was even more itchy. It took several days of using a prescription steroid ointment and ice for the rash to calm down. I'm wondering if I now have an allergy to the freeze spray that is commonly used before they access my port. Has anyone else experienced this? If it happens again, I think I'm going to get the port removed.
BridgetO
Hi Judy, Have you ever used a skin numbing cream when they access your port? I think it's EMLA. Never having had a port, I haven't used it, but I've heard from those who have that it works well. e LouT
Judy M2
I think that will be the way to go. The freeze spray never bothered me before this time. Thanks for the suggestion, Bridget.
