Recommended Posts

Join us on Tuesday, March 22nd - Michelle Ferretti, LCSW, OSW-C will be our guest expert to discuss Brain Fog.

Michelle Ferretti, LCSW, OSW-C began at Life with Cancer in 2015. Her current focus is on research and training, specifically around integrative oncology and Life with Cancer’s unique Integrative Psycho-Oncology Program (IPOP). IPOP is a four-program curriculum designed to build emotional coping skills and resilience from cognitive, mindfulness-based, and contemplative perspectives in which Michelle has played many roles (coordinator, developer, trainer, and facilitator) in her 6-year experience with the curriculum. Michelle has trained over 20 facilitators to facilitate programs within the IPOP curriculum. Michelle has also co-created a multidisciplinary program addressing cancer-related cognitive impairment, discussing the roles mind-body interventions and lifestyle choices play in supporting brain function and overall well-being. She also developed and facilitated Body, Mind & Breath: An Introduction to Qigong.

In 2019-2020, Michelle completed the NCI-funded Integrative Oncology Scholars program at the University of Michigan. Current research projects include exploring measurement and interventions for cancer-related cognitive impairment and the efficacy of Life with Cancer’s novel program, Mind Over Matter. Michelle has presented at national conferences and been invited to speak on topics including the role of psychosocial interventions in physical and emotional side effect management, caregiving, and cancer-related cognitive impairment.
