lilgna
i am relatively new to this forum. i did just read something about celebrex or vioxx, helping with remission. would that also help when you are considered "stable disease", which i have been since sept. 03. it i is always so nice to have support from all those who truly know. those of us that are in this hell... thank you
ginnyde
Lilgna, My husband takes a 400mg celebrex 2x a day. Our onc. has said that there appears to be some indication that celebrex does help impede the cancer growth. I think they are doing trials but I am not sure. Since my husband seems to be able to tolerate it, we are keeping him on it. Ginny
lilgna
thanks for your reply. i would guess then that vioxx is just as effective or do you know? i was actually on vioxx before my dx, because the horrible pain in my shoulder then had been dx incorrectly, it was actually my lung cancer that had not yet been dx that was creating all the pain in my shoulder . but at least i have the rx.. right... trying to always remain positive even when things go crazy, and they do..... chloesmom
I take vioxx every day. Can't take Celebrex because I'm allergic to one of the ingredients, but vioxx is also a cox-2 inhibitor. My onc willingly gave me the prescription, sure can't hurt. Only side effect that I'm seeing is that it is raising my blood pressure, which has never before been an issue, but I will watch that carefully. I just consider it something I need to do to try and keep this all from coming back.
