tess
Well, we made it thru the radiation for the second time. Rob did the 3D radiation on his 6th rib (right side) without feeling so sick as the first time around. I know its because we did go where we could get the 3D and it wasn't so hard on him. He was tired but not half as much as the first time. He did 15 treatments this time. I think last time it was 30 treatments in three different spots. I would reccommend the 3D to anyone! We had to drive 135 miles every day, 5 days a week up I-5. It took us 3 hours a day to get his daily treatment. It was worth it. He still has the pain however, we hope since he finished yesterday that the pain will subside more. It has gotten better, more tolerable now, but hopefully it will disappear soon. After we went to the lung cancer specialist, Dr West in Seattle, he told us the same thing his Dr said. The second chemo should be Gemzar and Navelbine (Rob call in navy beans, easier to remember ). So he will start this on Friday the 16th. Maybe it will work, he has a 10% chance. Then the next thing is Iressa. (another 10% chance) Then possibly a clinical trial. Hopefully, he will be able to try all these things. (if needed) I wonder if he will lose his hair this time? Hopefully, the next time I write we will have better news! Thanks for being here everyone! Its nice to have others going thru the same things to tell our trouble to! Tess
Ry
Hi Tess, I'm glad you have updated us on how you two are doing. The gemzar worked wonders for the tumor in John's mediastinum, I hope that Rob gets good results also. Hang in there!
