MO_Sugar Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 At this point all I can do is welcome you to the family and offer prayers for your Mum. Until they have a dx of what kind of cancer she has it is hard to say what the treatment will be or what to look for. What tests have they done so far? What made them do testing in the first place? God Bless, MO Quote
gerbil runner Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Welcome, wish we could help more. Is it possible to try another dr/hospital? Sometimes a different viewpoint helps. It took several tries to get a dx for my mom, even though the pulmonologist had the correct suspicions. Sometimes the biopsies just don't come back with enough information. Hope you get answers soon. karenl Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Hi Tim Sorry to hear about your mother. The fact that she has had breast cancer makes me wonder if the current condition isn't a recurrence of that. Hopefully you will get some answers soon, and she can get started on treatment. Wishing you all the best Karen Quote
john Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Tim, Kim has an excellent point. It could be a recurrence. They need to get a biopsy. Was her breast cancer estrogen dependent and is/was she on tamoxifen? Aromatase inhibitors are a new way to treat estrogen dependent breast cancer because tomoxifen works only for a number of years (I think) http://www.cbcrp.org/research/PageGrant ... ant_id=162 Quote
