niececola Posted May 12, 2004 Share Posted May 12, 2004 Hello friends, Well, I guess my time-out from the board was short-lived! And with good reason! Just to remind you all, my mom came off her clinical trial a couple of weeks ago b/c the spot in her lung grew. We never knew how much it grew, it shrunk 25%, maybe it only grew 5%? She took that news ok, had a tough conversation with her doc and was ready to start new chemo the next morning. Unfortunately, she had a bad reaction to that and was hospitalized for almost a week. She is now taking Navelbine. We found out today her body scan came back stable! No change since January 2004, the scan before she started the clinical trial. I was envisioning new growths everywhere. The doc has ordered an MRI and some other tests to determine what the pain is, so we will see. He is also trying to find a drug that will settle her stomach, so she can hopefully start eating again.
