Sue S
My mom finished radiation therapy approximately 7 months ago. She is stage IIIB. On her last CAT scan report, the technician indicated that there is a mass in her lung and concluded that the tumor has grown. The doctor said that they could see no evidence of a tumor inside the mass, but rather it was the scar tissue that has grown. The family is confused. Unfortunately, I did not think to quiz the doctor on this issue. Any insights? Thanks.
mhutch1366
Do a search on radiation fibrosis. Radiation keeps on giving..... That might be part of your answer. Good luck! XOXOX MaryAnn Prayers, always.
john
A PET scan will distinguish scar tissue from an active tumor. You could ask the Dr about this. As Maryann said ask the doctor about fibrosis. There are few posts on this board of how to deal with fibrosis. IIIp0 and a few people were using vitamin B-12 I believe
