finally some answers

My husband went to see the pulmonary specialist today and finally got some real answers. He was at the dr.'s office for over 3 hrs and the dr. spent over an hour talking with him. While he was there he had some more test done and after results the consultation began. We have found out he has severe copd with the left lung being the worse. The dr. told us there was no way he could have a lung removed or even a lobe because the end result would be more difficult breathing and perhaps complications after surgery. He did give his consent for the removal of the nodule so the surgery is still on and told my husband to not insist on coming home early that he is in the best place incase an emergency situation arises--so that knocks out my husbands idea of coming home the next day--my husband has never had any surgery whatsoever and is clueless about how one feels afterward

We found out more in this one visit then any of the visits we had with the other pulmonary specialist-- I'm glad my husband had a good repore with this one, my husband he was honest and to the point and answered all his questions including if he would survive surgery.

Surgery can be VERY scary for anyone, and the Dr. is right. It is best to stay in case something comes up. My dad hates the hospital, and is going in for surgery on the 29th. Hes not very happy about his stay either. Hope all goes well, and wishin the best to you guys!
