Has anyone heard of ALCASE?

Hi, my name is Tia and I am in Cleveland, OH. My mother (marsha, some of you may have known her) passed away in January of this year and as a result of that, I have decided to dedicate my life to lung cancer patient advocacy. Alcase is the Alliance for Lung Cancer Awareness, Support and Education, and along with this board, can serve as a great source of support and education for people dealing with LC and their loved ones. My question is this- are there any advocacy groups in the North Eastern Ohio area? I have been looking for awhile, but no one seems to know about ALCASE or has heard of it. www.alcase.org

I have heard of ALCASE (through my oncology office) and actually just signed on to become a "phone buddy" through their program.

I am not sure what exactly you are asking. You are looking for a local chapter of ALCASE in the Ohio area? I'm not sure, but I think they operate on a national level and don't have individual operations in different states ( I could be mistaken though)

Oh yes we are all familar with ALCASE. I have worked with ALCASE for over 5 years now. You will see mention of them on this board from time to time. I'm not sure what exactly your looking for when you say an

Advocacy Group in your area. ALCASE IS an Advocacy Organization.

The Alliance for Lung Cancer Advocacy, Support and Education.

My suggestion to you would be to contact ALCASE and ask them! That's where you need to start. Ask for Janet Healy. 1-800-298-2436. It's ALCASE you want to be working with.
