"MY SHEPHERD, MY LORD, MY FRIEND"

Jesus, You came into my life at a time,

when I was in such desperate need.

Of a kind word, a warm smile,

an understanding heart and loving deeds.

-

Your love, You gave to me freely,

from the well-spring of Your soul.

You looked deep within and viewed me,

as one needing to be made whole.

-

I was a trapped butterfly,

bruised and in need of healing.

Your touch released the beauty in me,

gave me courage and set me free.

-

You gave me joy and renewed strength,

Your love and wonderous things.

But for a time, I soared away in flight, to test and stretch my wings.

-

You determined in Your mind and heart,

that by the power of Your Word.

My wandering would soon end,

gently, You called, your voice I heard.

-

And so unto You, I returned again,

to the true source of my being.

Never more to leave You,

my Shepherd, my Lord, and my Friend.
