kimblanchard
Hi, My father has now been officially diagnosed with NSCLC, squamos cell in the right lung. We are lucky that it looks like it is early stage and is a small spot in the smallest lobe of the right lung. He had a complete laryngectomy 2 years ago for laryngeal cancer but they believe this is a second primary not a metastisis. Anyway, it looks like the recommendation is a wedge resection of that lobe. We are wondering if anyone else has had lung surgery at Hopkins and who did the operation. His first surgery was there and he had a wonderful experience and incrediblel recovery. His first surgeon has recommended Dr. Stephen Yang or Dr. David Mason, both have great credentials just curious if someone has had first hand experience. john
No recommendations, but it is common to get lung cancer after any type of head and neck cancer. There are a few people on here who have the same 1st and then 2nd primary.
