john
It is AKA Omnitarg and pertuzumab. It targets HER2 - an epidermal growth factor. Don't want to be a downer, but I think the article is a little too optimistic for the drug. It is being moved to Phase III for ovarian http://www.gene.com/gene/pipeline/trial ... ungcancer/ http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040707/sfw087_1.html Omnitarg (pertuzumab): In the Phase II open-label trial of Omnitarg, evidence was observed of anti-tumor activity, including objective responses and durable stable disease in patients with advanced, relapsed/refractory ovarian cancer. While there was evidence of clinical benefit in the trial, the objective response rate was not adequate for an accelerated approval or pursuit of a Phase III trial for single-agent therapy in ovarian cancer at this time. Moving forward, Omnitarg will be evaluated in combination with chemotherapy in a Phase II trial in ovarian cancer.
