Bill
First, I want to thank Dr. Joe and those of you that responded to my question about my wife's inflammed surgical incision. She had WBR and lower spine radiation before starting chemo ( Gemzar / Carboplatin ). Radiation recall from the Gemzar sure looks like a perfect fit. The inflammed portion of that incision on her spine is within the radiation field and the areas outside of the radiation field are not inflammed. This includes her other surgical incision which has healed just fine. I got to thinking. Just a wild guess but from time to time I read comments about symptoms associated with WBR. Even though the face is protected during WBR I wonder if a similar radiation recall reaction could cause swelling and redness of the tissue around the eyes ? tnmynatt
Bill, I found this listing of rare side-effects for Gemzar: Change in skin color of the face; skin rash, hives, and/or itching; swelling or puffiness of the face, especially the eyelids or area around the eyes Take care. kimblanchard
Can never say never, Bill, but that doesn't really sounds more like a drug reaction than radiation recall....
