I received this e-mail today and felt it was worth sharing!!!

Dear Heather,

I urgently need your help to keep our kids safe from Big Tobacco!

Members of the Senate and the House of Representatives negotiated the FSC bill, a corporate tax bill, in a conference committee earlier this week.

Unfortunately, because of the influence of House leadership, language to give the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authority to regulate manufactured tobacco products was dropped from the bill, and this version has now passed the conference committee and the House of Representatives.

The Senate will vote on the bill sometime between NOW AND TUESDAY, giving your Senators another opportunity to stand up for our kids.

Please call your Senators TODAY and ask them to vote NO on the FSC bill because it does not contain FDA regulation of tobacco.

Without FDA regulation of tobacco, the tobacco companies will be able to continue marketing their products to kids, including real, addictive, candy-flavored cigarettes. They will also be allowed to continue to place ads for these and other tobacco products where kids are likely to see them.

Please call your Senators TODAY and urge them the vote NO on the FSC bill because it does not give the FDA the authority to regulate tobacco products and protect our kids.

Your help is vital. Please call your Senators TODAY and tell them to take a stand for America’s children.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Carter Headrick
