The National HOPE Summit takes place during May, Lung Cancer HOPE Month.
At HOPE Summits, participants learn, collaborate, advocate, and use their voices and stories to make a difference in the fight against lung cancer. The summits feature inspirational speakers, medical expert forums, lung cancer survivor-specific sessions, and opportunities for lung cancer survivors to connect with other survivors and share their stories with the public and the media. There are sessions for survivors in active treatment and others for those out of treatment to address their specific needs.
This our fifthyear of informing, educating, and celebrating survivorship and the hope in lung cancer research through the National HOPE Summit. The goal of the weekend is to provide a summit for survivors with educational sessions covering topics including:
Research news
Immunotherapy
Ask the oncologist
Practical issues such as:
Dealing with side effects and depression
Communicating with your caregivers
Managing your medical team
Living with lung cancer
Nutrition/mind-body
[*]Writing your way through lung cancer
