Don,
Sounds like a great job. Now you can fill your days with leisurely hikes!

Congratulations Don! Retirement sounds wonderful. If you don't mind my asking, what did you do for a living? Anyway, enjoy!

I come here to talk to people that "get it". I have a wonderful family, great friends, great doctor, all very supportive. However, they can't possibly understand what a punch in the stomach it is to be dx'd with lung cancer. I don't think even people with other cancers are on the same roller coaster as we are. It's other lc survivors that help me keep my sanity!

Hi Nikki,
So sorry to hear about your dad's dx. I'm a lung cancer survivor, but my dad was dx'd with bladder cancer when he was 82. He also refused chemo, and lived three more years rather well. After going through chemo myself at 45, I can say that I don't think my dad would have survived it. Continue being a supportive daughter to both your parents, and I'll keep you all in my prayers.

Hi Cindy,
I'll keep you in my prayers. In this case, I think you're right about no news is good news. Let's hope it's something a few pills can take care of.
Good luck,

Hi Midge...it's Betty. It's funny, I just posted about my upcoming scan next week. No matter how busy I keep myself, I'm still scared! My husband can't seem to understand this as it's been a year. (duh) Glad to see you and hope all is well.

Hello...next week is my three month scan. I've had "clean" results for a year, but I'm still so nervous. I was actually dx'd twice, once in Aug 04 and once in Oct. 04. So I feel this also could be my year marker Once I get scanned and get good results, I feel like I'm safe for three more months. But as that date nears, I get the jitters.

Hi all! I just found this board and it seems as if it's filled with nice people. I'm 45 years old, dx in Aug. 2004. After 2 surgeries and chemo, my scans are clean. I look forward to "meeting" you all.
