  1. Hello there Ron,

Greeting from a fellow Stimuvax Clinical Trial patient.

I am so elated to hear your news. The road is long, curvy and sometimes unending but your fight has given us all that wonderful hope and support we need.

What can I say? Tremendous feelings of support for you my friend.

    Lorrie

    :)

  2. *Sung to the tune 'Thank God I'm A Country Boy'

Well life on the couch is kinda laid back

Ain't much an old chemo girl like me can't hack

It's late to rise and early in the sack

My God, I'm a chemo girl!

Just as the last line was sung

  3. not ask for Tequila but instead inquire where I can find a six-pack of La Crosse beer. Just as I went to ask the local bar owner where to find it , a funny looking bus

  4. Ya know....just when things were getting a little semi-gray and not the usual 'white,' along comes Bruce with his most electrifying post of hope shaking out that gray.

Bruce, Congratulations on this journey's end. Now the tremendous upward journey keeps going but in a totally different light. Fantastic.

Please keep up your posts, including your insights on your cure. Faith and hope abound.

    Congrats again.

  5. Well I cannot imagine all the fun to be had at this wedding. Your feelings are so up and down but once you get there, get all the flowers and arranging done perhaps things may settle a bit. Your nephew will be so happy you are there for him and helping out so much.

It is fully understandable to be going through this and feeling a bit nutty! You watch, things will be better than ever!

Lets see some flower pix is right! Have a good time for yourself first then the rest will follow so easy you wont even believe it.

  6. Hi there fellow Ontarioan Ontarioite Ontarioster ??? What ever fits...

I just finished almost the same scenario in March/08 and feel pretty darn good. All my treatments were in Juravinski Cancer Clinic in Hamilton. They are all angels from heaven there just like all Cancer Clinics I am sure.

We are coping very well here what with the crazy hot humid weather, how are you?

Best wishes on your treatment! Keep posting!

    Take care

  7. Hello there,

I can only add "Ditto" to Ned's wonderful explanation. If at first his letter does not sink in, then read it again. Truer words have never been spoken.

Sincere best wishes and support to you and your Mom and family. It may seem a bit of a challenge right now but you are very strong and will manage. You found this web site, which will be a true help for support and encouragement.

    Take care and keep posting.

  8. I am not sure if this is the correct area to post this. My apologies.

We received news of my brother-in-law Dennis's pain and his doctor eventually after several tests and surgery, you all know the drill, found cancer. This was two months ago. Without getting too involved, his liver and areas surrounding were fully into the cancer. This was the secondary and as of today, they could not pinpoint the primary.

We are in shock and as I write this, can hardly breathe.

No treatment was suggested as the cancer is so far gone. He stood up for his Quantity of Life to which they will be starting chemo next week. The oncologist is hoping his body will hold up and actually did not recommend the chemo.

I thought I had hit a rough patch. Hardly, comparatively speaking. We must be strong for others and always hope for the very best.

Dennis is 48 years young. Please think of him, which is a lot to ask I know as we all have our own crosses to bear. Thanks for listening.

  9. Hello there,

What an amazing story, which reminds me of my dear mother who left us due to non-cancer issues. She is with me still and it uplifts my heart. You are an amazing woman to let us know all those deep inner thoughts and feeling you have. Do not let go of your mother's feelings back to you. They will never go away and are the biggest gift of all.

Keep us posted on how you are doing. There are several wonderful people in this site who have helped and supported me a lot.

    Take care.

  10. Hi 'Huggy' Mary,

Glad to see you here so we can offer you any support that we all can muster up!

Things may seem a bit strange but you sound strong and confident Mary. Keep up the good thoughts because we are all here with you. Keep us posted please.

    Take care. :)

  11. Hi there Kathy,

We are all behind you with oodles of support, love and understanding.

The initial 'waiting game' may be of great worry but stay positive and remember we are all here for you. It is super that your doctor's plan is now is effect and you are on your way to supporting your 'survivor-ship' with all our strength with you.

So glad you found us. Please keep in touch and don't forget that private messaging is always welcomed by any of us if needed.

    Take care. :):):)

  12. Hi there Carole,

Your enthusiasm is awesome! Keep it up girl and you can be sure all of us have much more to pass on to you as well.

All these fantastic vacation ideas are truly overwhelmingly fantastic so I think whatever you choose will be right. I am with Sandra though, Vancouver Island is spiritually and breathtakingly beautiful  No words for that place indeed.

We are all thinking of you as you are of us and have a GREAT trip. :-)

    Take care,

    Lorrie

  13. Hello everyone,

It seems a millions years away since my DX yet I have not even hit one year. Perhaps that is why the 'survivor' stance seems so appropriate and true.

We have all gone through tremendous battles, good times, travels and many instances all particular to your lifestyle. Strength makes us survivors right off the top. Happiness to enjoy life and all it is bringing us makes us survivors right off the top.

Live life as fulfilling as you can. Every physical body is different so the practical side of living will not be the same as the person next to you at the chemo clinic or the person standing in line beside you at a department store. Keeping in mind 'it is all relative', do what you can and feel great about it because it is so special and it is YOU.

Live, love and always hope for the best.

I am now having the time of my life, considering.

Love and hope to all of you,

    Lorrie

  14. Thanks Ned,

Your kinds words do help tremendously. I have updated my profile only going on my calendar book and memory. I should get the whole lowdown from my doctor if and when any more information is requested.

I have come to grips with my cancer just now. Strength, courage and faith have grown within me because of all the great support at home and at the cancer clinic. They are all angels.

    Best wishes to you all.

    Lorrie

  15. Hello everyone,

I have adenocarcinoma NSCLC IIIb cancer. I am in week three of the START program after all the prerequired treatments beforehand.

After reading alot of posts here, I have realized how caring you all are. None of us wants to be here but so be it.

Finding this level of friendship is difficult so please do not hesitate to contact me at any time. If there is anything I can do for any of you, I would try my very best.

    Take care,

    Lorrie

  16. Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum but wanted to advise you concerning the START Clinical Trial with the Stimuvax agent.

I have been on the START program for three weeks now.

If anyone has any questions, please let me know what they are. It is a very vague study but the results have been tremendous for our disease. I can only give you my opinion, which is certainly not stamped in stone as medically correct.

    Thank you,

    Lorrie :)
