In reading the article, it seemed like the enzyme hindered but didn't stop or prevent Vitamin D from helping to fight the cancer. If this is so, then if they can identify heightened levels of the enzyme, then perhaps they could administer more vitamin D (Is vitamin D injections experimental or are they covered under health plans?). Or the best scenario would be to create a drug that could block the enzyme.

I would take the genetic test if I was offered it. I think I would want to know. I could see how it could cause depression and other problems for some but I think I could live with the results. Do most health plans cover genetic testing or do you have to pay for it out of pocket?
