  1. Flatulence forces emergency landing

American flight diverts to Nashville after woman lights match to mask gas

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - It is considered polite to light a match after passing gas. But not while on a plane.

An American Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing Monday morning after a passenger lit a match to disguise the scent of flatulence, authorities said.

The Dallas-bound flight was diverted to Nashville after several passengers reported smelling burning sulfur from the matches, said Lynne Lowrance, spokeswoman for the Nashville International Airport Authority. All 99 passengers and five crew members were taken off and screened while the plane was searched and luggage was screened.

The FBI questioned a passenger who admitted she struck the matches in an attempt to conceal a "body odor," Lowrance said. She had an unspecified medical condition, authorities said.

"It's humorous in a way, but you feel sorry for the individual, as well," she said. "It's unusual that someone would go to those measures to cover it up."

The flight took off again, but the woman was not allowed back on the plane. The woman, who was not identified, was not charged in the incident.

  2. Jan,

Thanks for sharing your sadn and joyful story of your mom's passing and the things she loved in life.

You are very all very special to have been able to love such a wonderful woman.

May your closeness help you in healing from this loss.

    Much love,

    Eppie

  3. Bill, if you feel guilty about something you post---which happens to me lots here....I pay a silly penitent tax oer at the just for laughs thread. I post cute pics of kittys and puppies.

I mean no harm but I make mistakes. I am human.

For me this place is a place to be positive and hopeful. Luckily I have been forgiven. I do remember being fussed at by Fay A. for posting something that reallly was not so funny. And I have shaken a finger or (shot the finger at a one poster/poser) two. But not at you, darling.

I sometimes get a cyber bat and whack at cancer cells. I hates them so much. Warriors can only take so much before calling to arms.

I can tell you are one of the special ones who finds us here at LCSC. A verbose, expressive person who thinks with his fingers and sends his thought to others via the cyber waves.

You and your wife are most welcome here. Share and share as much as you wish.

WE are strong enough to absorb it.

    Much love.

  4. Sweetie, If I could I would put my arms around you.

    I would take you shopping.

I would plant you a garden (yes even in Winter)

i would take you out to dinner.

Getting busy is one way to get up and out of the muck of grief.

I hate to put it that way but at some point you are going to want to, need to and it will ok to do so.

I wish I could see you and maybe light a fire in your fireplace....grief can;t warm ya like the love of friends.

    Here is the love.

    TIme will heal us all.

  5. Hey man, Cut yourself some slack.

Nothing but love and understanding around here.

Lucie and Don are so loved here mentioning it again is merely stating the obvious.

We miss her but if there is one thing i know about this lovely lady and her very kind husband is that they are gracious and forgiving.

So just post again when you feel better.

    Much love,

    Eppie
