  1. Hi Bubba Beth, Only God knows when you time is up. Stay positive and start those treatments. I am sure they will help. I know you have lots & lots of questions. Ask away and someone here will be able to help. I know it is hard to do, but you have to keep a positve attitude and spirits high. God Bless

  2. Welcome and glad you joined us. My wife and I know exactly how you feel. Your not alone. We both cried are eyes out in the beginning and then we said that's it, now is the time to fight. We are both trying to keep a positive attitude. If your doctors are not being encouraging, maybe you can find one that will give you hope. Main thing I can say now is please stay positive and keep those spirits up. Feel free to ask all the question you want, someone here will be able to help. God Bless.

  3. Thank you all for the responses, it is greatly appreciated. I saw the Dr. this morning and mention that Magic mouth wash. He said most people try it once and never use it again, but he gave me a script for it. I'll give it a try, nothing to loose. Thanks.

  4. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on easing the pain in the esophagus. I am going through Rads & chemo and the pain when eating is horrible. I AM eating but every bite is like eating glass. I have potronix, tried maloxx and a few other things to no success. I thought maybe somebody here would have some tips. Thanks for listening.

  5. Hello and welcome. It sounds like your dad has been through a lot already. How is his spirits and attitude? That is very important. Hearing what he has been through already, he might surprise you. If you have any questions, fell free to ask. I am sure someone here will be able to answer them. This is a great support board. Keeps us informed on his progress. God Bless.

  6. Hi Jamie, Boy, your husband has been through a lot already. Glad that you decided to post. A lot of good support here. The one thing that stuck out on your post was "Jeff has a fantastic attitude. He's ready to fight." That is so important. Hope the doctors get some things under control so he can start treatment as soon as possible. Please keep us informed. God Bless

  7. Hi Tracy, glad to found us and decided to post. I lot of good information and help here. I know how your children fell. It's a very frightening thing for them and for us as well. Keep a good attitude and a high spirit. I am sure you will get much support here. God Bless and keeps us informed.

  8. Welcome Christy, I am kind of new here also, but glad I am here. The people here have given me a lot of support and hope. I am sure it will be the same for you. I am half way through my treatments and with god's help, I hope my tumor will have shrunk enough for surgery. Having a good spirit and attitude is very important. God Bless and keep us posted.

  9. Hi Chris, Welcome

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend at such a young age. It seems like your friend was very heath conscience. It re-enforces my believe that this disease will strike anyone, not just smokers. I wish that people in power that are funding research would realize this also. I really admire you for the promise you made that you would never give up fighting and looking for a cure.

We need all the help we can get. God Bless you.

  10. Welcome to the forum, good place to be. Lots of support. I am kind of new here and glad I found this site. I have lung cancer and on top of that kidney cancer. I try not to think about it (hard to do), but there is nothing I can do about it. I have to play the cards that I was dealt. You seem like your a very caring person and trying your best to cope with everything. It's going to be a tough road unless his attitude changes. My wife is my soul mate, my best friend, supporter and caregiver. Don't know what I'd do without her. The main thing right now is your health, mentally and physically.

Someone said earlier you husband needs a hobby for all his spare time. I agree. Does he use the computer? Maybe if he lurked around in the forms here his attitude would change. My computer keeps me sane. Best of luck and God Bless.

  11. Thank you so much for the replies. Thanks to ConnieB for pointing me in the right direction in the forums. I would also like to congratulate ConnieB & Antoinette for their spirit, determination and will for survival. You are great examples. God Bless

  12. Does anyone keep stats here? I have read a lot of post and I was curious as to who has survived the longest that is active in the forums. As you can see I haven't been here that long, but glad I am. It was just a thought, but it could lift some spirits.

Also, what happened to the Ask the Experts, forum ?

    Thanks

  13. A friend got into a hospital elevator with an orderly who was wheeling an elaborate machine. The device had several pipes, dials and gauges.

“Man, I’d hate to be connected to that machine.”

“So would I,” agreed the orderly. “It’s a carpet shampooer.”

  14. Really sorry you had to find us and sorry to heard about your husband, but I am glad you stopped lurking and decided to post. We all know what your feeling and going through. There is a lot of support and knowledge here. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I am sure someone will help. I know in times like this, it is hard to stay strong, but you need to be. God Bless and keep us posted.

  15. Dear Lord,

    Every single evening

As I'm lying here in bed,

    This tiny little Prayer

    Keeps running through my head:

    God bless all my family

    Wherever they may be,

Keep them warm and safe from harm

For they're so close to me.

And God, there is one more thing

    I wish that you could do;

Hope you don't mind me asking,

    Please bless my computer too.

Now I know that it's unusual

    To Bless a motherboard,

    But listen just a second

While I explain it to you, Lord.

You see, that little metal box

    Holds more than odds and ends;

    Inside those small compartments

Rest so many of my friends.

I know so much about them

By the kindness that they give,

And this little scrap of metal

Takes me in to where they live.

By faith is how I know them

    Much the same as you,

We share in what life brings us

And from that our friendships grew.

    Please take an extra minute

    From your duties up above,

To bless those in my address book

That's filled with so much love.

Wherever else this prayer may reach

    To each and every friend,

    Bless each e-mail inbox

    you update your Heavenly list

    On your own Great CD-ROM,

Bless everyone who says this prayer

    Sent up to GOD.com.
