Jay, I heard that chemo could give anemia. You should ask your oncologist about your Complete Blood Count and hemoglobin level to see if your fatigue may be caused by chemo-related anemia... Anais

Hello! As you see in my signature, my mother was also dx with NSCL adenocarcinoma (stage IV). She started carboplatin/gemcitabine chemo a month ago and she also takes chinese herbs. Hello Migeon, My mother is about the same age as your husband and she was diagnosed with NSCLC stage IV at the end of April. It has spread to both lungs... This really came as a surprise! She completely changed her lifestyle. Hi! My mom had really bad side effets after her second chemo (Carboplatin/Taxol/Gemcitabin) and she was getting very weak. The oncologist prescribed her cortisone and now she eats 3 normal meals. Could it be dangerous to take cortisone for a long period of time? It has been 2 weeks now... Anaïs

The oncologist says it's not operable : there is a big tumor in the left lung and some diffusion in the right lung. She never smoked! She had malignant pleural effusion last week, they drained the liquid with a chest tube. They also suspect pericardial effusion (liquid around the heart). Anaïs

Hello, I'm a 23 year-old student (masters in linguistics), living in Montreal, Canada. My mother was diagnosed a month ago with stage IV adeno.
