  1. Have been hung up with blood transfusion, lung infections, chemo ceased working, start of radiation, etc.

Just beginning to feel like my old self. Read my profile where I documented the last months sinde December.

Take care, love and hugs, PATTY G

p/s. WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW YOU WERE IN MY THOUGHTS AND I SAID A NOVENA FOR ALL OF YOU FOR CHRISTMAS.

  2. Dear WELTHY, KELLY AND LILLY:

    Your answers are most helpful.

I'm caught up in Christmas right now. Still have to finish cards. Even if they go out late, it's OKAY. People are just happy to hear from you.

I didn't realize the GAMMA KNIFE pertains only to Brain Cancer. There is a University in California called Lo Melinda, where they make a mold of the area (any area of the body with cancer) and shoot protons into it for 45 days straight - 15 minutes a day. Most people are cured. They have a 95% success rate.

    Hugs, Patty

  3. Hi Connie: Thank you for your answer. Is the gamma knife like shooting PROTONS into the source?

How have ya been? I'm feeling stronger every day. Am caught up in Christmas at the moment. I'm now wrapping

any gifts for the kids -- just purchased JUMBO BAGS and smaller bags. What a great invention. Did it, with An -drew's help, in a couple of hours.

Now am working on cards. We send out over 100. Did a Message Letter this year. Much easier to print and fold and insert.

My clavical is almost healed. Just a twinge once in a while. Thank you, JESUS.

Take care and have a wonderful holiday. Hugs, PattyG

  4. Dear Sloanie: Your mom just needs a pill for the nausea. When I get this from the chemo, I take my nausea pill, sometimes it comes back the next day, sometimes not. Good luck to you and her

    God Bless, PattyG

  5. Hi Katie B:

My broken clavical is on the mend. At least I'm able to type and communicate.

One funny thing happened through this catastrophe! The pain was soooo bad in the beginning. My husand said one night, I was calling out, MAMMA, MAMMA! (Forgeting when a lady is in pain, she sometimes calls out for her mother.)

Well, he ran around to my side of the bed, shook me and said, DON'T GO!!! DON'T GO!!! (He thought I was seeing my mother and leaving this world!!!) and I don't remember a thing. Slept through it. We still laugh about it.

    Bye for now. Hugs, Patty

  6. I'm a survivor from not only LUNG CANCER, but a BROKEN CLAVACAL. Fell in my computer room right after I sent out messages to this board.

I'm getting better now. Had to postpone my CHEMO last week as I had a lung infection. Much better now.

Thank you Jesus. God is good and with all the wonderful prayer chains,I HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANY NEW CANCEROUS CELLS. Yippee!!!

    Hugs and love from Patty

  8. Hooray! I'm so thankful for the PRAYERS from all of you.

On the night before I was to begin my 2ND CHEMO, the pain in my side that was from coughing since June, disappeared.

I truly believe in the Power of Prayer . Thanks to all of you - for the prayers I had requested.

    Hugs, Patty

  9. I 'm so sorry I have been away. Was keeping up contact with family and friends, especially my 5 grandkids. I find it takes me longer to do things now....just slower.

To all the wonderful people who have been praying, the day of my second chemo, MY COUGH AND PAIN WENT AWAY!!!

Thank you Jesus and to all of you too.

I'm in my second stage of chemo, developed RLS (Restless Leg Syndrom) that keeps you from getting a good - night sleep. Dr. prescribed BENADRYL. Hope tonight is better. :)

Hugs and God's blessings to each and every one of you from this wonderful support site. I really can't be away from you too long. You're now part of my salvation to a healthy CANCER FREE body.

  10. Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 was my first chemo for 5 1/2 hours. It wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. Although, my personality seemed to change from the steroids - 5 the night before and 5 the morning of the CHEMO. The steroid was called DEXAMETHASONE (4 MG. per tablet) I NEVER EXPECTED THAT REACTION. My personality changed. (The devil made me say those things. haaaaah)

Thank you to all the kind people for posting with my Kerri. She felt so much better.

The 2nd day I slept most of the day; last night I had to get up from bed and take Percoset and 2 Tylenol (not at the same time) but from Flu like symptoms.

My husband has been mixing drinks with APRICOT SEEDS (APRICOT SEEDS ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP FIGHT CANCER) and BERRIES. HUGS, PATTY

On this site, APRICOTS.COM, if you go into Kernal Products, you can get the seeds for $9.95 for a half pound. Ground 7 a day, in a coffee nut grinder, and mix with drinks or food. i like it in ice-cream.

    Enjoy

    Sept. 20, 2007 (Thursday)

Had Medi-Port put in today. Actually, the incision is 2 1/2 inches, and shrinking. I only had 2 inches of chemo left and my littlie veigns collapsed. Don't fret. I'll be okay. It's 3 days later now. Feeling better. The port is made of TITTANIUM and covered with galvananized rubber. Stitches are clear colored.

The hospital staff say it will be much easier to receive my chemo, when I resume OCTOBER 1st. Hugs to all. Patty

  11. My my! You are still in the battle with his illness!!!!

I'm so very sorry for what you have to go through!

Even though there hasn't been any improvement since May of 2007, we can't lose hope.

I'm going to pray every day for his recovery. The brain is a complicated organ.

    Hugs, Patty

  12. Hi Welthy!

Dear God! You have been through soooo much with your husband!!!! Up and down, up and down. You must be a very strong Lady Warrior since he is a strong Warrior.

Can you tell me what the acronym SOB means, regarding Lung Cancer?

I told my doctor about the herbs; he didn't seem concerned. He did advise me to share this information with the SLOAN MEMORIAL STAFF Consultant Department. I will tomorrow a.m. before I go there. Since I don't have a doctors appointment tomorrow, I can go in at any time, before 11 a.m.

God bless you Welthy. I'm curious. What is your given name?

    Hugs, Patty

I will keep you apprised of my 5 hours at the hospital tomorrow.

    Hugs, Patty
